What does mental health have to do with PCOS?
- PCOS is a chronic condition that affects many women that are diagnosed with it
- Mental health is definitely affected when a woman is having symptoms of PCOS and they are confused on what is going on with their body
- PCOS has been associated with having higher rates of depression and anxiety
What are the signs of someone with PCOS having depression and/or anxiety?
- Low mood or the lack of desire to do anything
- Poor appetite, Oversleeping, and Isolating oneself
- Excessive acknowledgement of worry
How can it be managed?
- With young women it is important to let them voice their concerns and fears about what is going on with their body
- Parents should be supporting these young women and lean in respectfully and fully to try and help these young women understand what is going on with their body

- Meditation and Yoga
- Counseling (Such as: Cognitive behavioral therapy, Interpersonal therapy, Psychodynamic therapy, and Support groups)
